Walk

Coogee Live stretches along the beautiful Coogee Beach Reserve, so if you’re nearby, walking is a relaxed, scenic way to arrive. Pathways link you easily from local streets and parking areas straight to the festival, and there’s plenty to see along the way.

How far is it to walk along the coast?

  • Woodman Point to Coogee Beach – 1.4km
  • Omeo shipwreck to Coogee Beach – 0.9km
  • Ngarkal Beach to Coogee Beach- 1.6km

Tip: Park at Omeo or North Coogee, enjoy a coffee or snack at a local café, then enjoy the short walk down to festival activities – all part of the days fun.

Bike

Cycling to Coogee Live is one of the most convenient and eco-friendly options, and it keeps you close to the coast the whole way. The festival site features clear bike paths and dedicated areas to secure your ride once you arrive.

We’ve installed bike racks right in the heart of the festival, so you can park easily and join in the fun without worrying about your wheels.

Bus

Several bus routes service the Coogee area, stopping within easy walking distance of the festival site. Using public transport means you can avoid parking stress and start your day watching the waves roll in before the event even begins.

Tip: Check local timetables in advance and allow a few extra minutes to walk from your bus stop to the festival site… it’s quick, easy and part of the Coogee Live experience.

Parking

All regular beach carparks that surround the immediate reserve will be closed from Thursday 5 March to Tuesday 10 March. Parking around Coogee Beach and North Coogee is free but limited, so planning ahead is recommended. Spaces can fill quickly on event weekends, so arriving early is the best way to secure a spot.

  • Len McTaggart Reserve (Cockburn Road): A short stroll to the festival.
  • Napoleon Parade & Surrounds: Additional parking off Thames Way and Calypso Parade.
  • Omeo: Nearby parking options.
  • ACROD Parking: Accessible bays are clearly signed south of the Coogee Beach café, accessible via Powell Road.

Please respect residents and signage… don’t block driveways or park on private property. If nearby lots are full, consider parking further away and walking along the scenic coastal paths.

Rideshare and Drop-Off

Rideshare and taxi drop-off zones will be signposted and marshalled to keep traffic moving smoothly around the festival site. Follow the directions of event staff so everyone has a safe and stress-free arrival.

Tip: Set your pick-up/drop-off point a short walk from the main entrance to avoid peak congestion – a quick 2–5-minute walk helps keep traffic flowing for all attendees.
