The Presets (DJ Set)

The Presets formed in 2003 when Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes met at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, quickly gaining recognition for their ability to fuse dance music with rock’n’roll energy. After signing with Modular Recordings, they released two EPs and their debut album Beams (2005), before breaking through with the triple platinum Apocalypso (2008), featuring hits like “My People” and earning five ARIA Awards, two ARIA Artisan Awards, the J Award, and APRA Songwriter of the Year. Pacifica (2012) followed, winning critical acclaim including Rolling Stone’s Song of the Year for “Ghosts”, AMP Award shortlist, and multiple Album of the Year accolades from major publications. Internationally, the band has captivated audiences at Glastonbury, Coachella, SXSW, Exit, Melt, and Splendour in the Grass.

Returning in 2018 with HI VIZ, debuting at #1 on iTunes and earning ARIA and AMP nominations, The Presets continued to dominate with hits like “Do What You Want” and “Martini”. They released the collaborative RAKA EP with Golden Features in 2019, including the euphoric single “Paradise”, and in 2022 dropped club-ready single “You Belong”, featured in Sydney’s iconic midnight fireworks and topping Triple J’s airplay. Celebrating 20 years in 2023, they embarked on 20 intimate DJ nights across Australia. Beyond the duo, Julian has collaborated with Flight Facilities and Steve Angello and scored for Sydney Dance Company, while Kim is a sought-after DJ, producer, and co-owner of EDM label Here to Hell.
